How Dry needling, Cupping and Kinesiology Taping helps with painful joints and muscles

Understanding The Benefits of using Dry Needling, Cupping and Kinesiology Taping during Kinesiology session Dry needling is a treatment where a very thin needle is placed into the skin and into the muscle tissue where the person experiencing pain (neck, shoulders, back or knee pain)

Dry needling stimulates blood flow into painful area to heal and also causes your brain to release endorphins that help reduce pain and discomfort. I always say to my clients during the treatment, that dry needling is less painful, than if I would physically manipulate the painful muscle or a tendon (which can be more painful not just during the treatment, but can leave felling bruised for days),

It helps to:

  • Reduce pain – Research has shown that dry needling can be very helpful in pain reduction, particularly in those who suffer from chronic pain in the shoulder, neck, heel, and back.

  • Improve range of motion – By treating certain myofascial “trigger points,” dry needling can help treat tight muscles and improve the overall range of motion and movement.

  • Enhance blood flow – After dry needling, blood flow to the treated area is increased, which helps promote healing in the treated site, and improves the tissue’s supply of oxygen.

Cupping is a very ancient healing traditional medicine, involves using suction cups, to apply on painful area, to stimulate the blood flow, to bring more oxygen into the area, for a faster recovery.

Kinesiology Taping is relatively new modality, which requires an application of a special Kinesiology tape on the painful sight (I use it after the Cupping and Needling) to help to stabilise muscles and joints, and also it lifts up a skin and moves the lymph promoting healing

It’s also important to note that dry needling is not meant as a standalone procedure. While it can be helpful on its own, it’s much more effective in concert with other therapies.

I usually find application of those 3 tools and also Nutritional and Lifestyle adjustments and Emotional work can help to reduce or illuminate pain

Happy healing xx
